Adored Beast Apothecary, Blends for Life, NaturPet, North Hound Life, Nutrience, Trueleaf Petcare and WellyTails are Canadian companies that say on their own websites that their dog or cat supplements are made in Canada. They are not the only ones, but they are the ones we could confirm. The table below shows where each company is based, how each one words its manufacturing claim, and which formats it sells. Every entry comes from the brand's own website, read on September 30, 2026, with a link so you can check it yourself.
We are Trueleaf Petcare, and we are one of the brands in the table. We have kept every row to what each brand publishes about itself, and we list the brands in alphabetical order.
Which dog and cat supplement brands are made in Canada?

| Adored Beast Apothecary | Moncton, New Brunswick | "Handcrafted With Love in Canada" | Powders and liquids, for dogs and cats | adoredbeast.ca, address |
| Blends for Life | Guelph, Ontario | "Each batch is crafted with care right here in Canada" | Powders, for dogs and cats | About us, contact |
| NaturPet | Kelowna, British Columbia | "manufactured under GMP guidelines (Good Manufacturing Practices) in a Canadian facility" | Liquid herbal formulas with a dropper, plus topicals | FAQ, contact |
| North Hound Life | Huntsville, Muskoka, Ontario | "We formulate and produce natural, whole-food supplements for dogs in Canada" | Powders and an oil, for dogs | Brand guide |
| Nutrience (Care line) | Baie-D'Urfé, Quebec (Rolf C. Hagen Inc.) | "Our Care supplements are proudly made in Quebec, Canada." | Soft chews for dogs, crunchy bites for cats | Product page, contact |
| Trueleaf Petcare | Vernon, British Columbia | Chews: "Made in our own plant in Vernon, BC" | Soft chews for dogs and cats, oils for dogs | Product page |
| WellyTails | Guelph, Ontario (mailing address) | "Our Canadian production facilities are located in Cambridge ON." | Powders and a fish oil, for dogs and cats | About us |
Two notes that help when reading the table:
- Nutrience is a brand of Rolf C. Hagen Inc. Its About page says Nutrience formulas are "crafted in small batches in our very own kitchen located in British Columbia", while its Care supplement pages say the supplements are made in Quebec. The table uses the supplement wording.
- WellyTails says it opened a US production facility in 2012 to serve US pet stores and veterinary channels. Its Canadian production is in Cambridge, Ontario.
How was this list put together?
We started from three public lists of Canadian pet brands: a guide on the North Hound Life blog, the Made in Canada Directory's pet supplements category, and the pets category on MadeInCA. We then opened each brand's own website and kept a brand only when its pages stated both of these things:
- a Canadian base, such as a head office or mailing address in Canada, and
- a statement about where its supplements are made.
We checked more brands than appear here. Some sell food, raw diets or broth rather than supplements. For others, the pages we read did not state where the products are made, or did not give a Canadian base. Leaving a brand out says nothing about its products. It only means we could not confirm both facts from the brand's own site on the day we checked. If you make supplements for dogs or cats in Canada and want to be considered, send us the page that states it.
What do the different "made in Canada" wordings tell you?
The brands above describe manufacturing in different ways, and the differences are worth noticing.
- A named city or province. Some brands name a place, such as Vernon, Cambridge or Quebec. That is the most specific kind of statement.
- "In a Canadian facility." This says the product is made in Canada without naming the city.
- "Crafted" or "handcrafted" in Canada. This is a statement about where the product is put together. It does not say where each ingredient comes from.
- Canadian-owned. Ownership is a separate fact from manufacturing. A Canadian-owned company can make products anywhere, and the reverse is also true.
- Canadian ingredients. Where an ingredient is grown or sourced is also separate from where the finished product is made.
None of these wordings tells you what is in the product or how much of each ingredient there is. For that, read the label. Our guide on how to read a pet supplement label walks through each part of the panel.
How can you check a "Made in Canada" claim on a label?
The Competition Bureau of Canada publishes guidance on "Product of Canada" and "Made in Canada" claims for non-food products. Food sold to people falls under separate rules from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. The Bureau's guidance sets out when it will not challenge each claim:
| Claim | Last substantial transformation | Share of total direct costs incurred in Canada | Qualifying statement |
|---|---|---|---|
| Product of Canada | In Canada | At least 98% | Not needed |
| Made in Canada | In Canada | At least 51% | Needed, for example "Made in Canada with imported parts" |
The Bureau also suggests more specific wording, such as "Assembled in Canada with foreign parts", for goods that do not meet these thresholds.
Here is a short checklist you can use on any pet supplement:
- Find the exact words. "Product of Canada", "Made in Canada with imported ingredients", "Canadian-owned" and "Canadian ingredients" are four different statements.
- Look for a qualifying statement. Under the Bureau's guidance, "Made in Canada" is expected to come with words such as "with imported ingredients". See whether they are there.
- Read the company line on the label. "Manufactured by" and "Distributed by" mean different things. A Canadian distributor address does not tell you where the product was made.
- Check the brand's own website. An About or FAQ page often names the facility or city.
- Ask. Email the company and ask where the finished product is made. A brand that makes its own products can usually answer in one line.
Where are Trueleaf supplements made?
Our soft chews for dogs and cats are made in our own plant at 100 Kalamalka Lake Rd #33 in Vernon, BC. Our supplements are veterinarian formulated. The plant statement on this page applies to the chews.
Our dog chew range has two lines, Calming Support and Hip + Joint Support, in 90g, 200g and 600g bags. Our cat chews come in 50g bags: Calming Support, Senior Support and Hairball Support. We also sell 237 mL oils for dogs. If you are deciding between a chew and an oil, our guide on chews or oil compares the two side by side.
How do you choose between Canadian brands?
Where a product is made is one fact among several. Before you buy any supplement, Canadian or not, it helps to check:
- The format. Some pets take a chew, some prefer something poured over food, some only accept a powder in wet food.
- The daily amount for your pet's weight. This decides how long a container lasts and what it costs per day.
- The ingredient panel. Amounts per chew, per scoop or per mL.
- What your veterinarian says, especially if your pet takes other products or medication.
To see the daily amount for each Trueleaf product by weight, use our dosing chart. If you are not sure which product fits your dog or cat, the supplement finder asks a few questions and points you to one.
